Corona virus is just like any other flu you could catch. There is no cure for it and from what has been told by reliable government disease control portals of various countries, there is no vaccination available yet [03/16/2020].
How do you get corona? Just like how you’d catch any flu. Through respiratory droplets.
How to do you protect yourself from getting infected by corona? Just like you’d prevent any other flu — wash hands regularly, avoid contact with known/suspected people having the flu and stuff like that.
What are the symptoms? Again just like flu: Fever, Fatigue, Dry Cough. This is not an exhaustive list.
What makes it hazardous? The ability of the virus to cause rapid development of pneumonia on the lungs; causing shortness of breath, low oxygen levels.
How to treat it? At the moment, there is no cure or medication available for the virus. Like any other flu, all you can do is stay hydrated and take rest. Your immune system has to fight it out.
Who are at risk? Older people and anyone in general who has a weak immune system.
Why are kids being told to stay home? Well, they could be infected, carry the virus and spread it to vulnerable population.
How do I boost my immune system?
- Eat well
- Stay Hydrated
- Quit/Stop/Reduce Smoking
- Quit/Stop/Reduce Drinking (Alcohol)
- Get some exercise
- Sleep well
